It means a strong desire to live, taking the form of a readiness to die."

"Up through an empty house of stars, Being what heart you are, Up the inhuman steeps of space, As on a staircase go in grace, Carrying the firelight on your face, Beyond the loneliest star." G.K. Chesterton

I like that quote! It's an interesting perspective on courage.
I replied to your comment on my own blog, but I thought I'd post it here too:
Wow, I can’t imagine being without power for four days! That makes me a lot more grateful that ours was only out for six hours. Life is always an adventure when you don’t have electricity, isn’t it? It sounds like you made the most of it! I do like that old-fashioned feeling of doing everything by candlelight. :-)
Hello! I love your quotes... so inpsiring. I've often questioned myself if I would have the courage to die for Jesus - to stand up for my beliefs - even when I am about to die... and I have come to terms... yes, I would. This is what I live for - I live to die for Him.
And I gave you an award!

Well, don't worry about coming around... I'm just glad you're still alive AND getting my comments. ; )
Love you,
